Hello, I'm in a band and we want to sell our music from our website. Of course we are already on itunes etc. but we want to provide our fans with more options than you get on those sites. One thing that would be really great is if we could sell the music digitally combined with a physical cd. So that you get the music right away and then cd later in the post. I see that there a lot of providers that allows you to sell digital content but it seems like I would have to get creative to sell combined digital and physical music. I have considered buying this

http://www.epayoneclic.com/

and then try to mod it myself. I'm not a very good coder but have done some ASP and AS3 before. We already have a Paypal store for cd's and I'm satisfied with that - I'm just looking for a way to expand to downloads too. Any ideas?

Don't know if this is the right place to ask. If someone knows a better place then please tell me.

Thanks
Benjamin

You'd probably get more relevant info from a forum where indie musicians hang out and talk about their business. I don't know any such place, unfortunately :).

Depending on the expected volume, you might not have to do anything special with your website to combine digital download and CD sales. It could just be a manual process. You will probably get some report from the ecommerce provider listing customer information. You could follow up on this and manually fulfill the CD deliveries, or you might have a piece of software that takes in the report info and sends it on to a fulfillment partner for the CD deliveries. There are so many possibilities for integrating the two channels that it's really hard to speculate without knowing exactly what you're working with.

Thanks. I think the best option would be to buy the epayoneclic script and then try it and see.

Paypal may have some packages that you can also use. Check them out if you are willing to accept/use Paypal.

Paypal is perfectly fine but their tools are kinda confusing and everytime I click "how it works" I get some superficial explanation like:

1) customer clicks "buy it now".
2) the money get transfered to your paypal account
3) you can transfer your money to you bank account.

Thanks Paypal but I know this already.

btw: I think I will go with the scipt but as far as I can tell it works by renaming the folder containing the dowload. Is the secure? I mean would the new location show up on google searches? And aren't ther programs that allows you to download the whole website?
