Selling Car on Autotrader...

Well I put my car up for sale on autotrader saturday. I had tried craigs list a while back but had no results. I have been pleasantly surpirsed with autotrader and have had 4 or 5 people contact me including one that test drove the car and made an offer.

Unfortunately I have had a negative side-effect. Ever since i put up my phone number (which seems to be required as i can't remove it) I have been getting calls from telemarketers and people who do not answer(probably more telemarketer machines that dont pick-up). And now i just got a text spam. I've never gotten a telemarketer call or spam since i've had this number for 3 years till now.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? Am I doomed with this number until i get a new one now? It really sucks and is annoying.

The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls at home. Most telemarketers should not call your number once it has been on the registry for 31 days. If they do, you can file a complaint at this Website. You can register your home or mobile phone for free. Your registration will be effective for five years.

Thanks, i'll give it a try and see if it really works. I've heard most dont pay attention to that. And since the people calling have caller-id blocked, i cant really report them.
