Selling Academic Software

I got a copy of Visio 2002 Pro from a class a year ago. It's still in the original sealed box and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since I got it. It has the "academic pricing" sticker on the box. Since I don't need it, would it be okay for me to sell it to someone? What are the legal issues relating to this?

If it's still sealed, you haven't opened it and therefore agreed to the license agreement, so do whatever you want with it.

Do you know for sure if that's legal, or is that what you think it is? I don't want MS knocking at my door, suing me for "ruining" their business.

uhhmmmm....you can sell it, but you have to sell it to a student. You can't sell it to your dad, or a home user....that is the legal bit.

technically actually, even if it wasn't opened, you could sell your license to the software, you just have to make sure it isn't on your computer anymore
