Craiglist advantages: free and local.

Disadvantages: it seems like the worst people are on craigslist. No firm commitment so there could be a lot of test drives with no buy

ebay: larger reach. Deposit paid upon winning auction ensures transaction goes through

Disadvantages: you pay about $80 to sell a car on ebay.

Autotrader: seems pretty clean and vetted.

Disadvantages: probably the smallest market.

This is for a sub 8k car btw.

Try a sign in the window. Completely depends on the car BTW. I sold my first car through this forum years ago. Second car was sold on NASIOC. I sold my dad's truck with a for sale sign in under 2 weeks.

Hey, thanks, man. Never thought of that.

What car?

Cheap, popular cars will sell fast on CL.

Another scourge of CL are the car-selling services that will start soliciting you.

I've had good luck with autotrader over the years. I'd also post it on CL and forums that are relevant to your car. Ebay- I think of either rare or bottom dollar cars.
