Selling a car for the first time.

Ok, forgive the ignorant question. Do I need to draw up a "contract"? Do I just take cash, or is a cashier check safe? After that just sign the title over? Do I lie about the amount to save him money on tax? (obviously not extreme)
What other things should i do (or not do) when he comes to check it out? (ie test drive)

Find a bill of sale form online.

Get safe payment from buyer such as CASH !

You can lie a bit if you want about the value... but many places will use blue book value regardless of what you put down.

Go with him on the test drive.
