Seller Non-Performance on eBay

So I won a laptop bag/sleeve for $0.99. Seller is balking and doesn't want to accept my payment. He offers to sell me the bag at his cost of $15. I said, "no, thanks". Now he is ignoring my emails.

I know there isn't much I can do except giving him negative feedback, but anyone got any ideas?

Update: I emailed him again and this time he gave me the mailing info I needed to send him a money order. I think I'll send it certified mail. In case you're wondering, I am not using PayPal, not that it really matters though, because his PayPal checkout isn't working either (says, "This seller cannot currently receive payments.").

Update: Seller came through and finished the transaction. All is well.

heh not much you can do.

i got a BS one going myself. I won and paid an auction on the 7th and have NOT GOT ANY EMAIL or anything. thinking of doing a chargback on paypal ..just witing until enough time has passed.

Are you planning on paying him the $.99 plus shipping? Does he accept Paypal?

I hate sellers like this. They set the price ridiculously low to avoid fees and help jump start bidding. You get the item well below what they were hoping to sell it for and then they try pull some BS like this.

The best you are going to be able to do is leave negative feedback. 🙁

A neg doesn't really hurt the seller that much. Better to report the seller for being a Non-selling seller.
[found this info on ebay's help board]

http://www.ebay.ph/helpIndex?page=helpPolRulesSellers#1

http://www.ebay.com.my/helpTSForm

Then choose:
1. Select a topic:
Member Problems -->
2. Select a subtopic:
Selling Offenses -->
3. Select an issue:
I won the auction and the seller won't sell me the item

When you report the seller for being a non-selling seller to eBay, you must also understand eBay's role. Since eBay is not involved in the actual transaction, eBay cannot force a member to live up to his or her obligation to sell the item to you. And I think that the seller won't really sell the item to you, because they have already sold the laptop to someone else.

But filing this report will let eBay keep track of the seller's actions. If they violate this policy numerous times, their account can be suspended.

Yes, I do intend on paying him. He does accept PayPal (though it doesn't seem to be working right now), but I am paying him with money order.

It's only been a couple of days since the end of the auction, so it's too early for negative feedback and reporting right now. I hope I don't have to end up doing that. I'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

Just file a non-sale with eBay. DON"T leave a negative, it will only get you a retaliation negative. As a buyer the negative will hurt you more than him

where do people come up with this crap? AS a buyer a neg hurts you in no way, people dont check evals as your bidding unless your buying crazy big items. Even then its not too liekly. Only time i ever check evals is when im going to buy i look at the sellers.

So when someone gets a negative as a buyer and goes to sell something, you'd look at that as negative as a prospective buyer. What the hell is the difference?

First off... you did not win anything. you were high bidder. 😉 winning suggests a freebie. nothing free on ebay.

second, report him to ebay. if he does this regualarly, they will kick him off if enough ppl report him.

leaving him a neg will only result in retaliation.
