Sell San Diego 3700 for a Opteron 148?

I know that both of these chips have similar/same specs: 2.2Ghz, 1mb cache, single core.
Because of the Opteron frenzy going on, I'm contemplating getting a 148. What is the multiplier on the Opteron? The San Diego has an 11. Is it easier/better to OC with higher multipliers?

Sorry for the dumbass questions:eek:

Both have an 11x max multi, the opty may OC better, maybe not. Not worth the upgrade IMO. I have the 3700+ myself and I wouldn't do it, an upgrade to a dual core opty I would consider.

It all depends on your current overclock and if you get lucky enough to find a good opteron stepping. I just got a 146 and so far really impressed.

Um.. how far have you overclocked your San Diego chip? If you've gotten 2.6+ Ghz, you may as well hold on to it; otherwise you can roll the dice on the Opteron.

Otherwise there aren't really any advantages to upgrading...
