Have a 2560x1440p 27" monitor that I recently replaced with an ultrawide. I was going to sell the 27" but I have a larger desk on the way and might be able to fit them both. Never used two monitors and have no idea what the hell I'd do with it, but was wondering what you'd guys do. Any ideas for what a second monitor might be useful for? And no, I don't need the space for productivity. I game and do other normal stuff. I don't do that stupid work stuff.

You can use it for consoles, assuming that the 1080p and under games don't look horrible on a 1440p display. I never tried.

What the hell did you just say? That's the most offensive word in the English language.

I like having multiple monitors, I use 3 atm.

2x 1600x1200 and 1x 3440x1440.

I'm thinking of replacing the 2x 1600x1200 with a single 1440p so they all have the same height and "match" more. The side monitors are great for doing other tasks, or watching video or w/e.

a 27" 1440p should be within about 1/10th of an inch height as a 1440p 34" ultrawide. So should look good.

I am using a 27" 1440 right next to my 34" 3440x1440 ultrawide. I use it to pull up documents or emails for reference while doing other stuff on the ultrawide.

You can game on the ultrawide and keep up with the rest of your online life on the other; people do this all the time

If my own quarters weren't so cramped, I'd have a cheap 27" next to my main display just for this purpose.

It's fun when you mount each monitor to a fully-adjustable arm. Then you can move them around as you like. Be warned: high quality arms that mount to the wall or drill into desks can cost more than some monitors.

Yeah a nice mount is the great when you have multiple monitors.

But I will say you can find some decent quality cheaper mounts these days, I am using a dual arm gas-spring mount that I got for $99 from monoprice, it holds up to two 34" ultrawides and around 18lbs per monitor.

Works fantastic with my setup, allows me to rotate and move my monitors however i like, even vertical.
