I finished removing the floor tiles from my 1/2 bath. What is left is dried mortar and it's a real pain to scrape off. Can I use self leveling cement to cover the dried mortar? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Was this original construction. You removed the tiles. HOwever, most likely there is a backer board subfloor underneath. It shouldn't be too hard to use a scrapper (floor) and pull up entire pieces of backer board. I generally don't believe in leaving old stuff behind it can cause all kinds of problems in the future.

Yes you can use selfleveling or mortar over top of the old, however it is best to try to remove the old thinset so that new tiles flooring doesn't hampers the door or ventilation operation.
