What particular books, tapes, cds, seminars were most helpful to you in your quest to improve yourself in each area of your life?

For me it is really simple.

I just think a few times a week, for a couple minutes about how my life is going and where I want to end up. I'll write a TODO list but not a daily chore type, rather short, medium and long term goals. You'd be amazed at how something as simple as writing a list will help you stay on track, realize and reach your goals.

Updated and added book titles to the author's names! in my reply

(sorry I forgot them the first time - I misread your topic as "WHO" influenced you, not books.)

None, they are a complete waste of time.

I think there's something seriously wrong with seeking improvement through others, so I haven't any sources to reference for improvements I've achieved in my life over the years. I think such improvements should come from within, from reason, and through reflective thought on your experiences. If I find myself in conflict I reduce it to whatever levels necessary so that I can understand my behavior, and if necessary, improve it. Listening to the rhetoric of some self-help guru for a few hours does absolutely nothing for me.

How is listening to someone else tell you what to do using your brain? If you must, buy classic literature on tape, science seminars on tape, or maybe some language immersion on tape if you're trying to learn a new language.

good input however some people need a bit more structure than others.....some people can keep everything going on in there head...i tend to be a bit scatter brained so i find using a particular methodology to be useful in keeping me on task....does that make me any less of a person...i dont think so.
