Self-fulfilling Prophecy?

People are always posting all kinds of messages in General Hardware that belong in their respective categories (such as Operating Systems, Video, etc). They do this because they say, "no one reads the other forums."

Truthfully, if no one posts in the other forums, no one will read the other forums.

What can be done about this? If I have to sift through another 10 "is 2000 better than 98 for games" post in Gen Hardware, I might puke...

Maybe we need a function that searches for keywords like "video", "3dfx", and "Matrox", say, in new General Hardware threads. If they pop up, before the thread is posted, it could pop up a screen and ask:

This message looks like it involves Video. Are you sure you want to post it in the General Hardware forum?

Post this message in:
o Video
o General Hardware
. ._____________
o |Other...........\/|

Likewise, messages with "2000", "Win" anything, "98", "95", "Linux", etc. would get a popup about the Operating Systems forum.

I've brought this issue up before but quite frankly with the number of idiots who can't follow directions, mods would be up all night moving threads to their respective forums, so why bother. (At least thats what I gathered, they ignored me the last time I brought this up)
