SelectSmart has a selector online for the 2004 Presidential Candidates (including several who will not run/have not yet decided). I'm interested in seeing the results for the ATPN forum, as well as everyone's answers to the questions. I added all of the questions and answers to the end of my post to make it easier; just quote my post and copy/paste the last section. Either mark the answers you did select, or delete the ones you did not.

Come on, is it that fucking hard to cut and paste your actual results, or to post your answers to the questions? It's nice that Kerry was your favorite, or that Bush matched your answers 40%, but that doesn't tell us a damn thing. I put the time into making it as easy as possible for everyone to respond...please don't bother if you can't take the time to share at least a little bit of your political views.

Edit: spelling and grammar

if you put your e-mail, it gives you something you can copy and paste. I got 99% lieberman/kerry, 83% bush. I'll probably vote Bush, I voted for Nader last election (because in a booming economy you can concentrate on liberal values vs fiscal conservatism, plus the trend will always be towards liberal values whether we have the GOP or the democrats). I don't see a democrat reducing spending (no universal health care) or promoting small businesses. at least with lower taxes, you'll have smaller government, and smaller corporate welfare. Plus I like rumsfeld's plan for trying to fix the pentagon and powell and rice for foreign policy. not too big on cheney or ashcroft.

ummm Republicans don't really believe in lower taxes much. They just believe the taxes should come from the local and state levels more. Lower Federal and higher city and state taxes.

This should be a mandatory test where people vote. People will vote for a name or a party and not know anything about it.

Did SelectSmart rig it so that LaRouche would get a negative percentage for everybody who took this poll?

I agree with the first 2, but WTF is up with 3-8?

Lyndon LaRouche seems to be getting a lot of negative scores, regardless of who turns out on top.

I guess it looks like the best I can do is vote for a candidate that only holds 3/4 of the views I do.

Yeah, something is wrong with their survey or rankings. Kucinich must be on both side of issues or just not "penalized" because he doesn't say what he is for. I looked to see how they set their rankings and how they decide who is for and against each "issue" but could find much.

It is quite interesting to see the breakdown of the responses by demographics too. I looked at the Iowa responses and 78%(130 total resonses) want "corporate" welfare reduced, but what they don't realize is that the majority of this states economy is based on government subsidies.:p Farming is huge, the seed industry is huge, the grain(gen mills and quaker oats) are huge. These companies would be hurting if it wasn't for farm subsidies:p Of course I didn't vote for or against that issue because I know that SOME targeted subsidies ARE "good" and needed.

That seems sort of accurate I guess. I can't say I really like Gephardt though...or any of the other Democrats.

Looking at the average results tells you that most people that responded to it are fairly liberal.
