There is a handy-dandy little link in there that says "specifications". The one with most high numbers is the best. (except for dot-pitch, that one you want to be lower)

Or if you want to do it the american way, just buy the most expensive one.

fine... I'll just tell you. The Samsung 793MB is the best.

Viewsonic E70f+SB:
Dot Pitch: 0.21mm horizontal; 0.25mm diagonal dot pitch
1280x1024 @ 66Hz
1024x768 @ 87Hz

Samsung SyncMaster? 793DF
Dot Pitch: 0.20mm horizontal
1280x1024 @65Hz
1024x768@85Hz

Samsung SyncMaster? 793MB
Dot Pitch: 0.20mm horizontal
1280x1024 @85Hz (this is the key thing, none of the others support this high of a refresh rate at this res)
1024x768 @85Hz

I can't find that monitor anywhere at all. Has it been discontinued?

So find a site that ships internationally. I wouldn't recommend the HP MX704 monitor. The dot pitch is too high in my opinion. It's .28 for the HP MX704. While, as you can see the others have .20

The dot pitch is how close the pixels are together. If it's a really high dot ptich then you can see the grill in between the pixels much more easily.

I would consider .28 acceptable, but if you're looking for a "good" monitor then I would stick with the one that is at least .22.

Don't ask which monitor is good, just find one. Look for a low dot pitch, and make sure it's capable of high refresh rate (that's the 85hz thing) at a high resolution. But if you're going to buy a monitor that can do 85hz at 1280x1024, and then not even use it at 1280x1024 then obviously don't bother.

Mabe I can't get that MB one. How is it better than the DF one? Except for at the highest resolution; I'm not going to use that resolution anyways. Are there any differences for image quality between the 2 models?

Nevermind about the last one. Between the first 2 which one is the best?

I'm deciding to buy the 793MB for 200 dollars. What's the advantage of it over the 793DF? the 793 DF is only 125 dollars. Is it worth 75 more? Is the 793MB one of the most advanced 17 inch monitors out there?

I found it for only 170 dollars. Is that monitor the best 17 inch one there is?
