Can anyone make a recommendation for a good sound card under $50, I don't need any fancy instrument in's or anything, I just want to improve the quality of sound of my speakers. They are 6.1 logitech x620's.

Well, I'm upgrading my whole system, I could wait for some of those amd mobos with onboard 6.1 surround, but is that really going to compare to a sound card? I'm not an audiophile or anything though, I'd just like the speakers to reach more of their potential.

Its most likely a bit better for music than gaming, although it works well enuf with my Logitech 2200`s playing my games. its out of stock at the moment but they generally are available.

Recomended for value for money. As long as you don't play many games, in which case you would be better off with an Audigy line card from Creative.

Well I do play games, And I would like the sound to be capable of directional sound, I don't care as much about the sound quality of my games as I do my music. So then should I get the other card you linked to?
The link does'nt work for me, could you tell me the name instead?

The link above for CHAINTECH 7.1 Channel PCI Sound Card, Model "AV-710" -RETAIL should work. Primarily for music. Cost $25.

The alterative for gaming (EAX 4.0) (and also music) would be Creative Labs Sound Blaster Sound Blaster® Audigy 2 Value Sound Card, Model "SB0400" -RETAIL found here. Cost $65.

Depens on your budget really, but the former will suffice. The latter would just have suport for EAX 4.0 in games (IIRC, better directional sound).
