Haven't seen the video, but i'm also not the biggest fan of this song.

I love A7X's other stuff though.

exactly, synester gates = god

The Rev (drummer) is also quite amazing. Bat country wouldnt be anything without him. Not to mention every other song from back in the day.

Hmm.. I just watched a few of their videos and I must say, they sound pretty much exactly like every other pop-punk band out there. The singer is unbearable, and though the guitarist is probably better than most pop guitarists, that is not saying much, and he is certainly by no stretch of the imagination "good."

I did think the doublestop work in Bat Country was rather impressive, but then I saw that it was two guitarists

First off, I never made an assertion that I was smarter than everybody; however I did truthfully state that chances were in my favor in response to an accusation that I was "retarded."

Now, with regard to the topic at hand, chances are also in my favor that I have been exposed to and am probably more knowledgable about music than most, simply because that was how I was brought up. I played the piano for the first 22 years of my life and have performed in such venues as Carnegie Hall and Juilliard (I also casually play the violin and guitar). Nonetheless, "gifted" is an extremely broad term, and however pompus I may be, I would not presume to be more gifted than people I don't even know.

Regarding the topic in question, I truely believe that if you think this band to have exceptional skill, you are sorely mistaken. I respect that certain people enjoy this type of music but to say that their musicality or skill is even comparable to certain others is absurd.
