Sometimes after booting up to Win 98, I have no sound AND when I try to play a sound or an event occurs that makes a sound (like a Windows "bloop" sound) my mouse also stutters JUST for the duration of that sound event. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening? There are no hardware conflicts, and I usually just restart and everything's fine. Here's my system specs:
Athlon 1Ghz
256 DDR RAM
Philips Seismic Edge
Efficient Networks 3060 aDSL modem (I think this and the sound card don't like each other, since they share the same IRQ...but all my attempts to separate them have failed with crashes and Windows saying "NO NO NO!" )
