In the episode where Jerry's car gets stolen, and Elaine buys JFK's golf clubs for Peterman..was that an allusion of something? I'm sure if I knew the episode would make a lot more sense..what with George's "project", the whole bottle collecting thing and what not.

No I think he means allusion as in based on a real event. And he would be right. I don't have an article (apparently it was written about in the Detroit Free Press a few years ago), a couple of guys perpetrated the same scam and were busted. It is illegal to collect the 10 cent deposit in Michigan on bottles brought in from out-of-state.

It's referenced here.

Edit: Oh, and this didn't have anything to do with the other storylines in this episode (George's project, Elaine's golf clubs, and Jerry's car being stolen). Why did the episode not make sense to you?

theres a lot of allusions in sienfield, thats what makes it funny. Its humor on a few different levels.

i'm pretty sure that the "magic loogie" was hinting towards the kennedy assasination, but not quite sure.

Indeed it was... it came out around the same time as the Oliver Stone film JFK.

Oh definitely... no question about that one. They even made a reference to the gravely road. HAHAH.

Hmm, actually I meant the scene with the farmer and the daughter..but I didn't know about the whole recycyling thing though.

And with George's project..he had to do something down in payroll apparently, and you saw Newman crunching up numbers with the register thing, I figured the two connected somehow.

The episode did make sense..I guess, but I'm thinking there's another reference to something, because George ended up in a mental asylum, and apparently had someone else do his project.
