I almost bought that game for $12 at a used CD store (that had some misc games)

looks like maybe I should have gotten it.

i played it for a while until PGR2 came out. It was an enjoyable racing game (probably the best on xbox there for a while)

Its decent, but Gran Turismo is still much better, IMO. Curious to see how Forza turns out, it looks very promising.

I don't really like how the races are setup in Sega GT and the tracks seemed boring to me.

I wish they would've put all the tracks from GT2 in GT4, as they were the best in the series. I'm not really certain why they didn't include all the tracks from the previous games anyways.

I'm just now finally starting to build up a lot. I've got 1.45 million and am going to buy a race car so that I can tackle some of the harder stuff.

the GT series are MUCH MUCH deeper games than Sega GT.

ex, you can't change things like gear ratios, power balance, brake bias etc. in Sega.
I cannot wait for Forza....i hope hope hope it lives up to my expectations. Otherwise i'll have to buy a ps2 :(

which unfortunately is only on ps2

gt4 and mgs3 are two reasons why i might blow too much money and buy a ps2

I had Sega GT on the Dreamcast, it was a good simulation game, but not my thing. I need more speed. I had MSR on the Dreamcast as well, that game owned me. I almost bought an Xbox for PGR and PGR2 (same group+idea as MSR), but given that those are the only games that I really want an Xbox for, I never bit. I already own a PS2 and GC.

Edit:
Burnout 3 rocks :) The Xbox has better reflections, but the PS2's sharper light barriers make it easier to see oncoming cars. (at 200MPH, they're all oncoming)
