I bought one at Kbkids for $99 + tax + shipping. Mine came out to $106 delivered to San Diego, CA. Get $10 off coupon at techb@rgains for new customers, or use the Amex one (I actually used the amex code with a discover card, don't ask me how).

It is NOT $150 at BB with a $50 credit. It is $99. I just got one yesterday.

Outpost.com has the Dreamcast for $99, but with free shipping and no tax (outside IL, I think), esp to California, it's cheaper than any other, net.

Add a 5% discount by using ebates and it's hard to find a better deal.

I think they're out of stock right now, but it's next-day air shipping.

I'm sure most of you know this already. But on the off-chance somebody doesn't. (Not that this should sway your purchasing decisions...)

Sega has stopped production of the Dreamcast units...it is expected that units will be easily obtainable throughout the end of 2001...

Dead? With over 300 games available and graphics that easily compete with PS2 I think DC has alot of life left...especially considering the dropping prices of accessories. The games available are also argueably better than whats out there for PS2. Just my $.02.

Phule...does that mean I can use the DC to access the web via 8port switch with an uplink to my cable modem?? Is that possible? Where do I find NetBSD? Is that on the web software disk that comes with it?

I didn't get a manual with the used DC I purchased so I'm kinda in the dark.

They will stop making games after May 2002 (or if people stop buying games
altogether, they will stop before then).
Up until then you can look forward to around 100 titles coming out this year.
Daytona 2 is coming out soon and you can waste lots of time right now playing
Phantasy Star Online.
You can hook up your DC to your network using the "broadband adapter"
exclusive at the Sega.com webstore. It's really just an expensive
10Mbps ethernet adapter but you can't get it anywhere else except there (unless you wanna pay over $100 at Eb@y).
Surfing with the DC on broadband is actually a pretty pleasant experience.
I've read some guys are using it to play mp3's from a local server.
I still say the DC is the best gaming system out right now up until around
Christmas this year. The PoS2 great games are non-existent right now (SSX
gets boring after a few days and Madden is same ol' w/ no online play)
and the upcoming ones people are looking forward to keep getting pushed back.
I'm sure they'll be out in droves by the time the Xbox launches.
There are LOTS of great clearanced titles and peripherals at your local Target B&M. Great system to own. When the hobbyist libraries are released by Sega this year, I think this system will last a bit longer. Then you got emulators for the Snes/Genesis/Gameboy/NeoGeo to play with ...
Me, I'm still looking for another pair of Sega maraccas for Samba de Amigo :).
