Office Max only lets you pricematch within a 14 day time frame for electronics (same time as the return period). I tried to get them to PM since I bought some Palm IIxe 's that went down $50. They wouldn't let me even though I was pricematching their own store's price. They argued that it was past the return date and they would not pricematch. I was 3 days late.... =(

Anyways....

I was wondering if BestBuy has the same load of cr@p?

same question here batty boy! I'm more concerned on the time frame since everybody knew ahead of time about about the price drop. Plus, I can't find the $50 GC from BB if u buy DC. I guess, even without the PM, but if u got the GC, I think its a superb deal. Somebody post a link for the $50 please! TIA!

My $.02:
First of all why would you want to purchase a dead system. Go for a PS2.
I am pretty sure these can be had for less than retail price. Take a look around before doing this.

$50 BB GC was valid if you bought your DC at BB B&amp;M between 1/21 and 1/27. I think it's a few days too late now to get the $50 GC.

?Would anyone recomend the BB Replacement plan thing? Its $30 i think and if anything happens to the DC theyll replace it. But if DC isnt around in a few months then they give you credit for another game system... upgrade to an XBox or PS2 maybe...

why buy a DC? soul calibur (still a sweet game, no matter what you say), crazy taxi, impending crazy taxi 2, Tokyo extreme racer, sega gt, cheap-ass deck with 3d acceleration, availability of &quot;backups&quot; easily played, oh yeah, did I mention is it easily 1/3rd the price of psx2?

pros for psx2:
faster
better graphics

cons for psx2:
no &quot;free&quot; games (come on, you know who you are, who play &quot;backups&quot
dvd player sucks donkey balls. not a selling point.
you can always tell your friend to buy a psx2 (everyone has a friend who has more money to burn), MOOCH BABY!!!

you won't feel bad about installing the DC in your car if you are into mobile entertainment. especially if you have a wagon or large vehicle (I don't endorse SUV ownership ). you can put this badboy in the back for the kids.

another reason to buy a DC? cuz i dig it

I sold my ps2 systems along with all my games after few times playing them. PS2 is not amazing at all. Maybe XBOX will.

I think AMEX Blue has a price protection, so buy now and then have them credit the difference after the price drop.

The only thing with the AMEX Blue card is that it doesn't count if the store has a policy for price protection in place and you happen to be outside of a deadline.

Crazy8 is correct. The deal ended 1/27. I am lucky, because I picked the DC up on the 27th, and hopefully I will be able to get a price readjustment. Then, I would get the DC for $99, with a $50 GC. Of course, I could be all wrong, and they might not do it.
