Grrr, my Nomad is pissing me off, I can't get the DC adapter to power the thing unless I grab the cord and bend it where it connects to the Nomad, and hold it that way while I played. If I got a broken Genesis, would I be able to take the DC jack out of it and solder it into the Nomad?

Just to show my ignorance, what the hell is a sega nomad?
It sounds like a portable device.

Anyway, I wouldnt recommend you solder a power connector unless you know what you're doing. Since you had to ask, I dont think you know what you're doing. Desoldering and proper resoldering are actually kind of tricky.

Recommend checking eBay and Radio Shack to see if you can find another one to play around with. You break it and you're out of luck. And I'm guessing the warrenty is no longer supported. ;)

I guess I could say I do know what I'm doing, I've installed modchips before, and uninstalled them. My question is if its easy to remove the DC jacks in the systems and if they're even interchangeable.

Replacing the jack is fairly easy. Get a Genesis model 2 system to pull the jack from. The Nomad and Gen2 use the same ones. Or, I have a parts Nomad I'm looking to part with for a decent price.
