As you pointed out, AtGames is involved, unfortunately...so, hard pass.

I'll just hope for a physical release of all titles on a single cart for the Switch. They can probably price it very close to the same as the Mini and it'll sell even better. Considering the cost of making a cart VS the cost of manufacturing a Mini console, it seems like a no-brainer.

Edit: Wait...Mega Drive is Genesis, right? What is this the 3rd or 4th iteration of this thing from AtGames? Not sure why they are even reporting on this at this point or why there is any hype at all. Each of them have been nothing but disappointing. I see no indication that this will be any different. The review for it will likely be copy/pasted from the last one: https://www.polygon.com/2017/10/13/16051258/sega-genesis-flashback-hd-review

Huh didn't realize they have done this. Maybe Sega is pushing again with the additional release for mobile and Nintendo Switch.

Ugh more AtGames crap? If Sega would put something out on par with the SNES Classic with authentic feeling six button controllers I'd probably buy one for $100 or less.

I'll skip this and just get the games that are being released on a console this summer.

I bought one of these for the kids somewhere on clearance for $20. Wasn't worth it. The latency makes most things unplayable and you can't be more than 5ft from the console or the wireless controllers stop working.

why bother with AtGames? why are they trying this again? The definition of insanity is trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results....

But it's different... this time it's small. I can't believe Sega lets AtGames butcher their name with this crap they keep letting them release.

It's still made by @Games ("Atgames"). The same cheap clone folks who made all the previous awful Genesis clones.

I was so hardcore on everything Sega that I based my username off of their mascot. Now though I've since become a deciple of Nintendo. And why not? The days of quality from Sega have long since faded. The NES and SNES classic are mind blowing compared to the quality of the Genesis minis that keep getting churned out. There's something really cool about feeling a vintage controller with top notch 1st party quality replicating the feel of vintage when the controllers packed into so many other "classic consoles" are made of cheap junk. The emulation is also piss poor. I weep for today's youngsters that get a $20 Genesis clone at Dollar General that wonder how games that emulate and play like trash could ever have been so popular.

I agree on the controllers. The spot on controllers are a huge part of what makes the SNES Classic so amazing. The AtGames controllers with mushy buttons, no wireless range, and needing a screwdriver to change the batteries are such crap.

But Sega at least is still making some great games in the Yakuza series, they're not dead yet. God those games are a blast, too bad we don't get all of them in the US though and the ones we get often have long time delays (I don't think I can wait until August for the English localization of Yakuza Kiwami 2, so I'll have to play the original Yakuza 2 on PS2).
