Seems like all the files I download are corrupted

I've been downloading various media/files lately, wmv files - zip files - etc... It seems like almost all of them are corrupted and I can't extract them or play them. I'm not sure if its the problem with my internet or hardrive.. I download from various sources so it shouldnt be the servers problem. Anyone else had this problem before?
