Seems like a few problems with WIN ME?

Just noticing how many users are having "issues" with windows ME, just as many as when standard 98 came out, if not more. Oh well I am kind of glad that I held off and stuck with SE for a little longer-hope you guys having problems get them worked out

i guess winme is more extreme than win98. some people have serious problems with it, and some people get winme running flawlessly

Not really. Although WinME is offered as an upgrade, it is always better to install from scratch. I'd bet a ton of "problems" would be eliminated.

Oh yeah, reading some of the release notes/docs would probably help as well. A lot of DOS-based tools (Symantec, others) have been known not to work for a long time.

Yeah, I've installed winME on 3 boxes from scratch and I haven't had any problems at all. Just don't use the system restore. It seems to screw up your java certificates like yahoo! voice chat and the news prompter on www.gamesmania.com

Its not too much of a hassle to reformat IMO. Only takes me 2 hours to have winME back up with all the drivers and only another hour to get the major programs installed again.
