Seemingly Stupid Question About DVI

I just received my 2001fp from dell, and I was trying to hook up with the dvi cable (9800pro card) but I'm just getting a black screen. Is there an option on the software side that will switch the output from analog to the digital connector or what?

and yes, I am switching the panel's source to the dvi cable.

Are you not getting any signal at all, even when booting up and such? You may have to reboot the computer to get the card to realize that something is connected to the DVI port...

Check the source input on the monitor itself too. My LCD has 4 inputs to select from via a side button.

got it guys.... all my fault. I just never unplugged the analog cable from the video card. 🙂

did u turn on the monitor? also, did you make sure to open your eyes? sometimes i forget mine are closed and RMA my monitor every other week only to find that there is nothign wrong with it at all.
