I started picking up on MXML (I'm use to XML, so not much to learn here) and AS ever since I got a student edition of the Flex Builder. The project I'm working on will be involved with some text and parsing. I would like to trythis out in Flex before going to other web technologies.
What I want to do is have a user upload a text file and have the application go through the text file line by line and associate/store specific strings in the text file to a more understandable syntax (maybe XML?). The text files are actually combat logs from a MMO Game that is impossible to read. What I want to do is parse the logs and display them in nice graphs and reports, which will be worked on later.
What I want to know is if this is possible with Flex and if this would be a web application or a desktop application that runs on Adobe AIR?
