Seeking Input on my first OC

Hey guys,

I read Zebo's OC guide and came up with the following for my AMD X2 4400+
2530.9 Mhz at 1.376v, 230FSB, 4x fsb multiplier, 11x cpu multiplier. Does this seem like a decent OC? I guess I really have no clue what to expect from this chip, I've seen some people pulling like 700 extra Mhz out of other chips so 330 Mhz (although it is 330 on each core) doesn't seem like that much.. Should I keep working on it?

I completely get the whole CPU/FSB part but the memory timings throw me off. I have

OCZ Titanium 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory

Cas Latency: 2
Timing: 2-3-2-5
Voltage: 2.6V

Right now I am running at 180 (9/10 FSB) which is coming out at 194.7 Mhz frequency @ 2.9v
Cas# Latency 2.5
Ras# to Cas# Delay 4
Cycle Time 3
Bank Cycle Time 7
Dram idle timer 256

This DFI board lets you run so many different options for memory I don't know what to fill in so I leave them on auto. Is this a decent setting or should I be switching to something else? Any hints/tips/advice from you pros out there would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'd say that's pretty good for that voltage. I had to go 1.475 to get stable at 2530. I'm pretty convinced that is because of mobo voltage fluctuation. Here's something to consider: 250 HTT x 10 will let you run HT Link and ram at full speed, and you only lose 30 mhz.

increase your volt to 1.52
ram divider 333DDR
HTT 3X
ram start from 250Mhz and incriment

Ok I went up to 1.520v and 250 FSB with HTT 4X (now at 2625 Mhz) and hasn't failed Prime within 17min so far.

Memory I'm still shady on.. Frequency is set to 218.8 Mhz (think I did 9/10 mem divider) 2.5, 3, 3, 3. Should I adjust the timings further? I really have no clue what they mean. Is lower faster but higher is more bandwidth? Thanks in advance.

More bandwidth comes from higher speeds (in mhz), and not timings. Try 2.5, 3, 3, 5 with 8bank and 16idle timer. Give your RAM 2.8 or 2.9v (vDIMM setting). This voltage will enable you to set your RAM as high and fast as possible. It'll probably take some more volts, but I'd stick to 2.9 as my max.

You can just leave the HTT setting on Auto, it's not really an important setting, since your HTT will not be saturated regardless of what speed it's set at, but having it too high could potentially make your system unstable.
