Hello Everyone,

I have a question on printers, mainly printer cartridges. Here's my short story. My old printer (Canon-mp240) , was a little slow, but worked pretty good. And the Canon would print, long after the printer said, that the cartridge was out of ink. So i could really use up all the ink in the cartridge. Now my new printer (Kodak-esp 7) prevents me to even print, until I change the cartridge right away, once it signifies its out. The black & color cartridges are wayyyy cheaper than any other, that was their huge marketing ploy, but I am just not happy.

*** Need a printer for alot of B&W Text, very little color. no pics. Just printing lists, forms, etc. ***

What Printer does someone recommend: 1) That I can force to keep printing, long after it claims its out of ink? 2) also a printer with refillable cartridges. 3) a printer thats 1-3 steps above just a casual family printer, that barely gets used.

Thanks everyone in advance. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Since you only really need black and white then go for a laser printer.

Now the cartridge price will be higher then an ink cartridge for an inkjet printer. But i beleive you get more prints per cartridge on laser then with inkjet. Pluss if you go for long periods of time without printing you don't have to worry about a dried up head or cartridge. In the long run it should be cheaper then an inkjet.
