For the past week or so I have been putting together a new system build. I have read many of the topics on these boards.
Going to be using this computer for gaming mostly. I did opt for a big HD to store photos and such. Will do photo editing as well.

Now the problem is I really don't want to spend more than $800. With shipping this comes to $1,012.52
An idea of games I wanna play.... Left4 dead, half life, warhammer, fear.
I tend to like those type of games the best.

Need some help getting this lower. Without too much of a loss in performance. I can go over the 800 mark but would like to keep it as low as possible because I only have 800 atm and could take some time to get the rest.

Lady, do you need this computer straight away? Have you already got a monitor?

The best way to reduce costs is probably wait for sales / rebates (per your PSU and video card). You could almost certainly get a cheaper hard drive and memory (for example, Corsair 4 GB is usually available in the $20ish range AR, and G.Skill has had some deals too). I tend to pick up components one by one at optimal prices, then assemble the whole.

I don't know anything about the display you've selected, but I suspect you could get a better one for $200 (of course that means spending more not less, sorry). If you can hold off on the monitor, I would, because you really want to get a monitor that you'll enjoy -- everything you do on a computer is fed back to you via the display, of course.

Yeh thinking that is what I am going to do. Don't really want to change the CPU or the video card. Those are the expensive parts.
