Seeking advice on acrylic computer case!

I'm doing a computer mod of sorts for an art class at my university and I'm up a little creek with no floaties. I need to get this thing ASAP, so I don't have nearly as much time as I'd like to search out the best prices or most usable cases, so I'm shooting for cheapest buck per bang. (Due date is sometime shortly after my spring break). My spring break is going to be here in the next two days, or so. Another important factor is usability after the project, since I would like to have a decent case after the assignment is over, provided I have the heart to rip it back apart(also read: if it looks good enough, I'll keep it or give it to the art department).

The mod is basically creating a fake computer, complete with all the internals being made of acrylic that I will further modify to be of a style resembling realistic computer parts. The motivating idea behind this project is that this will be a map of the mind, my mind, my body, or some such(haven't figured out the proper system of symbolism to be used, yet). I figured this will be a perfect excuse to get a new computer case, a PSU and get some modding experience all at once. It will use mixed media. I'll be using some cathodes and an actual PSU to illuminate the bad boy.

I need to keep it as cheap, but nice as possible and I need to get it as quickly as possible so I can complete the work on it in the time allowed. I know this is asking a lot, but if anyone could point me in the direction of their favorite suppliers and some nice cases, I'd be glad to post pictures when it is finished(however newb it may appear).

When I have the case I intend to use, I'll come back and post it and the info about 24 hours before I purchase the case, cathodes, and acrylic(I should have time to do at least that, since I will be planning all the way up until I recieve the stuff). I know this will end up costing more than I originally intended, but if the outcome looks better, I'm not too bothered by the fact.

In 24 hours, I'll be deciding on what to use/buy, so I appreciate your responses and I'll be checking back every few hours or so. Here's hoping this won't look too bad!

Most of the clear acrylic cases are by Logisys or Sunbeam (the cases are actually the same) but they aren't anything you'd want to live with day in, day out... Maybe your finished project would be sellable as an objet d'art - one way to unload it w/o being out of pocket on it.
Linkage
Looks like you are in a fairly large city - maybe find one there.

Appreciate the info. I also understand the horror stories I've been reading about a perma acrylic case for every day use, so I guess it will just be an art piece. Building my own case will take far too much time, otherwise I'd be more than willing to jump right into that. The assignment will have to be turned in within a week or two. I appreciate the suggestion, though. (Side note: the link that talks about how to work acrylic is apparently dead. I'll try it again later, but the site seems to have link issues.)

Also, the Newegg link is handy. I've been looking and the best I've found so far was a $58 option, but I've ordered from Newegg before and had great service, so I guess they might be my option again, since I saw that the case I'd like would be $52. Thanks again. I'll keep looking, too. If you have any other suggestions, I apprecaite any and all.
