Seeking Advice for Dual Monitor Setup

Hi there,

Not being very experienced with dual monitor setups, what is the best setup to have with 2 lcd displays, if one would like to have them side by side, with one acting as a full screen tv (using tv tuner) and the other for applications. It would also be nice when the tv was off, that the second monitor be used as an extention of the first (big desktop). Thank you.
 
2 cards (good AGP + cheap PCI, both either ATI or nvidia not mixed) might work best for this -- my brother tried a single radeon 9800XT and had trouble getting the TV display to work the way he wanted on the second monitor. I wasn't involved, so he could have just been incompetent 🙂

You might ask in the Video forum, most people in GH just know the gaming aspects of video cards.
 
i use a 5900 ultra 1300 xt for dual display,seems fast enough,and stable.the TV aspect i dont feel is as good as it could be although i used a cheap ATI tv wonder card,but from what i have read i think i will wait for the tv cards to get better and come down in price although plextor makes a video in capture external device that i will consider next. hope this helps
