Seeking accountants wisdom

I have to pick a major after this semester and I think I have myself set on Accounting (undergrad). My question is, what am in for? I'm currently finishing up the basic classes and are yet to take any upper level courses - what will they cover? Also, what are my career options with or with out a CPA?

not much. there is a shortage of CPA's though, but I dont know about recruiting and the Big Four. upper level courses in most schools are taught by actual CPA's who also practice on the side in the real world. most are cool, in college we used to go drinking with one teacher and the other was a raging alcoholic who was kicked out of most bars around campus.
