I work freelance, so I'm looking for a good application to track my hours/jobs/etc. Something where I can "punch in," work for a while, and "punch out." Any suggestions?

Why not create a spreadsheet for yourself which would do it? Or do you lack the h@X0R 5ki11z? :D Anyway, that's what I would do. A place I worked for a bunch of years ago had a good spreadsheet setup.

Edit: btw, that's so cool that you're a composer. I am, that's right, you guessed it, an oboe player (though not as my profession).

No, I have the skillz ;) I use an Excel sheet right now. I was just looking for something a little more interesting.

Yep, I compose music for video games as a side job.. not my day job yet :)

$35/month for one user? I suspect that's not what MDesigner had in mind. :D OTOH, this testimonial seems to line-up with MD's experience:

I already love this product! I was ready to throw in the towel on our current manual/Excel time tracking system. I mean COME ON!!! I was practically in tears. Now I've been buzzing through the setup on FunctionFox and I'm already feeling relieved. You better believe I will be telling all of my friends about FunctionFox. THANK YOU!!"

What about using the Time and Billing Wizard in Access? All the work is done for you and it's free (provided you have Office installed)
