Seek Time Importance 9.3 vs 9.0

nah, you won't notice a difference. i bet that they just couldn't pull off a 9.0ms seek with that large of a volume, but your not going to take a noticable performance hit from it. If you need the extra 50gig, go for the 300.
 
.3 of seek time is negligible. However, larger amounts are. I'm not sure but the areal density increase (if there is one) on the 300 MIGHT make up for the .3 seek time.
 
You won't notice the seek time differences until you move to something like a 10K Raptor (4.5ms avg) or a Maxtor (SCSI) Atlas 15K (3.2 - 3.4ms avg).
