Okay almost 3 years old. Point still stands its a used system. Thing about computers. There isn't a 5k point inspection. They tend to work till one day they don't and any diagnosable degradation in usability usually happens very rapidly. Point being that they are designed for about 5 years of heavy use and 10 years of very light usage. You basically paid 25% of the original price of the system for both the loss in performance compared to current Tech and the fact that it might very well already be half way through it's usable life. With you having no idea when and what will go first.
All that and you barely saved much over a system you could have built using new tech and new components and didn't save anything over a store purchased Acer/Dell/HP and so on that while not being built in a system you can use as a shield, will probably live just as long if not longer, have warranty for a good portion of it, and finally be as fast as you need it to be. You did state that performance wasn't that big of a thing for you right?
My God....talk about flailing in desperation to IMPUGN.... with the wrong data!
I paid WAY under half what the system was new 2 1/2 years ago. Try to get that once and for all. My God, this is exhausting, and so needlessly.
Next, cept for my first puter, a Toshiba lappy I still have cause it was made beyond belief and just that makes it enriching to behold....I have NEVER HAD A NEW COMPUTER!!!! I do not spend my hard earned money foolishly or needlessly. I am beyond proud of this.
Of course I care about performance.....I only got this because my still PERFECT LAST Optiplex WAS A LITTLE TOO SLOW FINALLY; I used it for YEARS, and I would never let it go... u BET, GOT IT USED ON EBAY, the Presler chip still rocks....but this new system is WAAAAAAAY faster.
I can build or fix almost anything....without breaking a nail, MOSTLY....but have no interest in building a rig. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT. DO YOU GET THAT AT ALL???????
Pls work to own accurate data and some perspective!!!!!
