The downtime soon begins. The Internet becomes a sadder place.

I literally have nothing to do right now. Tried playing MLB 10 The Show... wasn't doing it. Not in the mood for anything, and not tired yet.
I need to go get some episodes of something to watch.
Interview in the morning, hopefully I can start escaping this place.. at least for half the day.

I'm still trying to learn how to bat in MLB10. Pitching is better, but the timing and location for batting sucks. How can you tell it's a ball in that little box? Ugh.

I went out during down time. Crazy. People looked at me so I ran back in.

Quit playing with my heart admins! You goin' down or what?!

I really only play RTTS, and my guy plays 1B.

Did get put as a catcher once, calling pitches is kind of cool. I remember with 09 I did play an exhibition game to play around a bit, and then decided RTTS was gold as a game-mode.

Batting, I wish I could tell you a secret, but quite simply, it's hard. It's very hard if the pitcher doesn't make any mistakes and leave one in a happy spot. You kind of figure out your own good hitting spots over time, and just hope you never get stuck with an at bat where you never see a ball remotely close to that spot.
And many of those at bats I end up not making good contact and getting out, or striking out.

With The Show 09, I was pretty bad at hitting. I picked up 10, took a little while to re-familiarize myself with the game, and then bam, I just started tearing up, for the most part. First two MLB seasons and I'm tearing down records. :D Sometimes I have to resort to cheating a little bit, by quitting the game before it can save a really bad game. But ended up with Rookie of the Year, and then MVP (also Playoff MVP, but wasn't too hot during the World Series, and while we won, I didn't get WS MVP). Broke the single-season RBI and Hits records, hits leader for two seasons (HR leader the second season)... ended last season with a .480 or so. :D
Gunning for the single-season HR record this year. Screw you Barry Bonds! :)

Ah - yeah the balls drive me nuts. They throw either at my foot or at the dugout. I started messing with the sliders but they don't help. I can't imagine having the tolerances for timing set to high.

I guess you can set it on rookie, but then I never make a damn hit. They keep grounding out or hitting right to a fielder.

WTF? Did the newest upgrade blow a gasket and we now have forum fluid leaking all over the intarwebs?

As long as P&N doesn't get into OT again...I don't mind the occasional outage.

:O

I got a RF for the redsox with a career .397 avg on all-star mode and a pitcher for the redsox(they just keep winning the world series lol) with a career 2.99 ERA. I had a 24-0 season as a starter lol. I'm not gonna lie though, i quit when the AI bullshits me during the games. I take losses i feel like i deserve. Of course, that kills the point of realistic simulation. MLB the show is where its at

I get a lot of pitches that barely miss the strike zone.
Taking those is hell on my patience. Especially sliders or curve balls that dance out of the strike zone at the last second. But I do manage to not swing - on most instances anyway. My SO to BB ratio is usually terrible. :D

Yeah, now that I'm not gunning for the "consecutive games with a hit" streak, I'll probably have a little lower average (i.e. 0 for X some games... I typically quit to preserve my streak). But if I had a decent game, I'd take a loss.

The season I am about to start, I might have to up the difficulty levels - I've left them on default settings.

and lol at the Red Sox. In my career, they hadn't won yet... my second season with them on 1B we were able to pull it off. Last two weeks we were able to swap Division and Wild Card spots with the Yanks, they had been leading it with an unreal win percentage for the entire season (something like .680 or so).

I was so upset too - my goal was to play for the Tigers. Started in AA, and, my biggest goal was their AAA team (my local team IRL) the Mudhens. Got there, and only stayed there for a couple months and got traded to Red Sox to play in Pawtucket. So pissed at first, but then I moved on and kicked ass.

Thrown all in a panic, but nothings happening. Soon Panic will turn to Denial, then Denial to Indifference. When it finally happens, I'm afraid of what the shock might do. :(

Wow...I went off to watch the football game, then some of tonight's new shows/season openers, and was surprised to see the site still up and running.
Must not be too much of an emergency...:p
