Have you seen this? www.thisdayinmusic.com

It shows you what was No.1 in the charts on the day you were born.

(Go to Birthday No.1 at the top of the site, it?s free, you don?t have to log in).

My number 1's are
'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US
'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK

Loads of other good fun music trivia on the site as well.
:D

Heh... this has been an R so many times I don't even have to look it up...
Meco - Star Wars Cantina

Except... I did look it up to get the song name right, and this site has a different answer than the other site.

WTF- 1969 when I was 18 it was Henry Mancini - Love theme from Romeo & Juliet. Not what I was listening to. Site only goes back to 1952. Missed by a year. US chart started in 1955.

Man, after reading this thread I feel old, even though I'm not really that old.

Weird, I looked through the old post and found that this IS the same site, they just changed the answer for my birthday. I'm sticking with "Star Wars Theme / Cantina Band by Meco" instead of freakin' "You Light Up My Life"

US: "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" by the Bee Gees

UK: "Get it On" by T-Rex (a cool song later covered by Power Station in the 80s)
