Eventually it's going to become like having an annoying ringtone on your phone that you can't turn off. The next sound will be of a commuter committing suicide, followed by the piano hits as the body tumbles down the stairs.

They should make it play a tune as you walk one direction. Change that tone twice every day.

One day, it's Super Mario Bros. The next day, it's something else. Reverse the direction occasionally so some people will get curious and double back to see if they recognize the tune when played the other way.
