That was bad ass. I feel like he flooded it out with the alcohol though. I just got a pressure washer running yesterday that I was told wouldn't run. Just had to clean the spark plug. The motor was so over filled with oil it would randomly stumble and shoot out a giant cloud of blue smoke.

I like how it looks like the fire is just along for the ride. It sure doesn't look like the fire is whats pushing in the cylinder.

It's not. It's the large volume of hot air produced by the explosion.

It was never mentioned in the video, but the surface cracks on the head are due to the alcohol attacking the acrylic. This is why you never want to use alcohol to clean acrylic parts!

That probably explains an incident I ran into in the past, was not aware of that.

5:46 Whoa what happened there?

Looks like the exhaust lit a cloud of acetylene that formed because he didn't start the engine soon enough to suck the acetylene into the intake.

Acetylene is quite unstable. He was using an oxyacetylene torch for the source so he could have added some O2. But wise NOT to! The 445nm laser balloon detonation shows how potent an ideal oxygen-acetylene mixture can be. Think of the bang a big carbide cannon has. Now imagine if an oxidizer was used (classic calcium carbide/water where hydrogen peroxide is substituted for water). Better be a solid steel block not those PVC jobs or you may have the new look when your face is shredded! :Q
