See, this is why I like being an RA:

Huge party going on, people hanging out on their balcony (in front of their apt.), loud as hell. They see you come out onto your balcony across the plaza, someone says, "Hey, that's the RA.", and they go inside.

I don't have to say a word.

Of course, they're probably getting laid while I'm studying for the coming week, but that's the breaks.

Cheers!

My RA is mad cool. 5th Floor
I was on the 8th Floor previously, and the RA on the 8th Floor was an Ahole.
Some of our neighbors got written up for having Dishes in the SINK. THAT'S RIGHT DISHES. Where does he expect people to put the dishes ?

I suppose it depends on the situation, how long had the dishes been there? If it were me I probably would have just taken them.

A friend of mine got written up in one of the other halls on campus for talking too loudly past quiet hours; thing was, he'd said one sentence as he was joking around, then went back to normal volume. Turns out the RA in question was new, IMO she overreacted and was on a bit of a power trip.

Depends on the college and building. In the dorms at the UW you'll meet with the RD, probably discuss the policy that got broken, if it was minor that'll be the end of it, if it was a big thing they'll follow it up either with a disciplinary hearing (if the facts are in dispute) or in really severe cases with charges by UWPD and or eviction from the halls.

The dishes were from that dinner night. He did the check at like 10pm.
Who the hell in college does their dishes right after the meal ? ( The next door neighbors were girls btw ).
Me and my roommates got written up for dirty carpet ? ( Three of our different neighbors came by and was surprised we were written up at all ). Our suite is pretty clean.

Some RA's just have a big stick up their asses, and the one on the 8th floor definitely had a big one up his anal cavity.
I'm glad I'm on the 5th floor now, the RA is a professional cook :), recent floor meeting, we had Pizza and he baked Fudge brownies. He's definitely laid back as well which is a + and addresses any problem quickly.

We go by the point system, so if we get written up too much it fvcks us over next semester for priority on single room suites.

Interesting. We're not as formal as that.

It is an unfortunate fact that the RA role attracts "honors" nerds, very anal people. Just a rule of averages that you get an even mix of assholes and cool people. I've wavered between the two, lately, I've been leaning towards the latter, thankfully.

The RAs I have had would make a point of not being around when someone was having a party.

That's the thing, I wasn't even trying to bust them, I was just stepping out on my balcony to think for a couple minutes. I wasn't really prepared for the reaction.
