I was driving to get some lunch the other day, and passed a dead squirrel. He honestly didnt look like he was dead at all, except for the fact he was on his back and stiff legged... no blood or tiremarks... and I got sad. Poor guy was just goin' to get some food probably, just like me and BOOM. dead. I didnt kill him either.

Do you feel bad for Bambi and Thumper when you see them dead on the side?

Sometimes YES.. sometimes NO... mostly YES though.

If I see a dog then for sure YES, I hate seeing dogs in any sort of pain... even when they have that emotional pained look when they are lost and hungry.

The spot where I walk my dog seems to collect a lot of unusual roadkill - in the last few years, I've encountered the carcasses of a red fox, some kind of snake, a couple of birds (probably West Nile :Q) and a ten-point buck. Saw a toad eat it crossing the street there too (heard it actually *POP*).

I saved a box turtle from certain doom, so I feel better about the dead critters. But yes, they make me a little sad. :(

Of course if I or someone I'm in the car with hits an animal, I feel bad...but if it's just there I don't feel bad at all. It's kinda insensitive sounding, but it's true.

See Roadkill, Feel Hungry

I once had to pop a head of a bird out of the front grille of my car.. that was kind of nifty. Whole body was gone, just the head was stuck.

Birds in flight are definitely worth extra points when hit.

I'm the crazy person blocking you from hitting the geese crossing the road and stopping to retrieve turtles before they get hit.

If you've ever seen a squirrel try to cross the street, you'll notice how dumb they are. It seems like they either stay where they are in a collision course or runs in the same path as the car if the car trys to swirve around it.

No, I don't feel bad. Do I feel bad for a dog or cat? Yes, probably because of the emotional bond for them. Do I feel bad for the chicken on my dinner plate? Nope, it was delicious!

The chicken died for a noble purpose. Roadkill is a terrible waste.
