this is the message that comes up about 50 times before my system finally boots into windows, and i know its a hardware problem but im not exactly sure.
i ran memtest86 and it wans't really sure if both of my 512mb sticks were defected because 1 of them had an error early on but once i ran it again it didn't have an error for about 2 hours the other one has errors about every 20 minutes, so it might be that both of them are broken, but i also read it could be a cpu problem, anyone know how to fix this?

T-bred AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Soyo KT400 Dragon Ultra Platinum Edition
512 mb Corsair XMS PC3200 and some other piece of crap 512mb CL2.5 PC3200
Leadtek G4 Ti4200
Maxtor ATA133 80 gb and 120 gb w/ 8mb cache
Win XP Pro SP1

You're saying that you ran MemTest 86, and are having problems, so test each stick individually for at least 2 hours, and see what you get. If both are having errors, find a 3rd good stick(or drop the sticks in a system not having problems), and try MemTest again. If you get errors with the good stick(or don't get errors with the bad sticks in another good machine), then it's a CPU/mobo problem, and not a memory problem, otherwise you've simply got 2 bad sticks.

Remove the piece of crap memory and see if it stops. If not replace the corsair with the crap and see what happens.. My guess is either the memory or the processor.

Wise man say, "test both sticks individually, RMA as necessary.

The problem may possibly even the board considering it's a Soyo DUPE. I was researching the KT333 one when Compgeeks had it on sale, but I found so many bad opinions on it and its (lack of) stability.

What's so tought about this problem? You tested it yourself and it doesn't pass memtest. Either your memory is bad or your MB is bad.

Or you have heat problems.
