That IS my face, you insensitive clod!

No, seriously, I just like to maintain at least some anonymity. People can obviously find out who I am easily, but I don't like my face being on the internet.

back in the high school days of sports all the time, i weighed 165, wrestled 152 and lifted at least 3x a week during the school year and 5x a week during summer break. best i got was close to 300 on bench

fast forward 10 years 8)
now i probably max out on bench around 240. only repping 195-205 these days but i'm not particularly motivated to do much more. actually, i'm happy to rep my body weight of 185. so i guess by the numbers i'm in the intermediate-advanced area.

Height: ~5'8"-5'9"

Weight: ~150 lbs.

Bench: 145 x 2 - Novice

Press: 100 x 2 - Novice

Squat: 155 x 3* - In between Untrained and Novice

Deadlift: 185 x 5** - In between Untrained and Novice

Clean: N/A

I've been training since September '06 (five months) and I realize how little I can do!

* Are the standards the same for the Full Squat?

** I never have really pushed my deadlift for fear of injury, and due to the fact that my grip probably couldn't handle it anyway.

BTW, do you think my squat would be slightly better if I didn't run 4-5 times a week?

Edit: Is it just me, or does the 234 lbs. deadlift seem kind of high for my weight class? Or I could just be really weak?

I'd like to see someone strict press bodyweight. That is a huge thing to do and rarely seen in a gym.

The Gold Standards are:

Military Press 1x bw
Bench Press 1.5x bw
Squat 2x bw
Deadlift 2.5x bw

If you can do those 4 in a session most people would say your pretty much a monster.

Koing

I've never done tried press in the same session, but I've exceeded those in one session in bench/squat/deadlift, and I don't consider myself to be a monster.

Really? Pics and videos of the aforemention lifts please!

I reckon no one here can press bodyweight for one rep the military press (strict). Thats probably the toughest one to do out of the lot.

The DL is on the low side. It should be at least 2x+...

Your legs are very very strong along with your glutes and back.

BTW having a ripped/ big guy doesn't mean you can put up big numbers in lifts. A lot of big guys aren't that strong, most gym goers aren't that serious about getting strong or athletic. They just want to get big, which is fair enough.

purbeast0 your looking quite big and ripped.

Anyone here get The Gold Standards in a single session, your the f0cking man.

The Gold Standards are:

Military Press 1x bw
Bench Press 1.5x bw
Squat 2x bw
Deadlift 2.5x bw

I haven't seen anyone press BW...but a friend of a friend pressed 1.4x BW strict! He was a National level lifter and would blow all of the others away apart from maybe the BP as I don't think he did that much...I'll blow by them all by the time I am 28 :).

Koing

PS I Clean and Jerked 133Kg on Saturday  :), 140kg will be mine by the end of the year easily, maybe 145kg :D

I feel depressed then :(. I've been lifting five days a week almost non-stop for five months and all I can squat is 155 lbs. and all I can deadlift is 185 lbs. Should I be full squatting around 185? Tomorrow is back day and I'm going to work on my deadlift.

Cheers!

I do not do barbell military press, but I do dumbbell shoulder press with 115 lbers for 3 sets five reps. I weigh 275, so yeah it would be extremely hard for me to do that weight for one rep military pressm but I might be able to.

It takes time to get strong. If you never work your legs or worked them properly it isn't suprising your legs aren't that strong.

And you have only been lifting for 5 months. I've clocked 6yrs...

You should be full squating 1.5x training weight and eventually a single at 2x bw all the way down. Not some half thing that people do...

I've played soccer and ran for six years, so I'm not out of shape; but I do have small legs. And I go all the way down to my heels without bouncing on the squat, which is about 135°.
