In a world where modern devices are able to show signs of life in seconds, it's absolutely ridiculous how many modern DDR5 based platforms are out there that give absolutely no indication that memory training is taking place. It's just begging for unnecessary support calls and poor user experiences from people who think there's something wrong with their system.

Not to mention what happens when something is actually wrong with the system and support is telling you to wait for the memory training.

About a year ago, Intel posted some stuff on Coreboot mailing list to make possible to allow the Alder Lake IGP to use CAR (Cache as RAM) for a temporal VGA textmode so that it an show early "life signs" via video. Most likely they are using that.
