Hi,
I've recently tested TeamViewer as a remote desktop solution.
Looks great since I just need an internet connection, and goes through proxies with no problem.
Now their site, the have statements about security.
Looks a lot of marketing information, and I suppose the use of AES (256 Bit) encoding helps avoiding data interception with any practical use.
Now I need some opinions of people that have used this software, about info sent to teamviewer master servers. The way I see it, there is a connection to a master server, as it is the only way they can make connections through ID's instead of direct IP.
But what data is sent to their servers? I mean, it may be a great software ... but I personally don't have a clue on who are the guys behind it, and what info they ask from my client/server running software. At the end, I'll be connection to my home computer which has all my personal data, and I'd lilke to keep it that way ... personal.
I also believe there is a setting in the options to allow connecting directly to IP, that way it would allow to completely bypass teamviewer's master servers, but anyone knows how to make it work? Or does a direct IP connect disables the possibility from connecting from behind a proxy?
Thanks.
