Security / enryption software

Are there any software suggestions to keep co-workers, familiy members out of folder, files, or disk partitions that I want to keep important data, files or whatever on? I am looking for Windows XP Pro - for that - but the system I will wnd up with - will not have Pro on I believe - so is there another software solution? I've looked at Norton - but they don't seem to have someoen to keep users out of places on your hard drive.
