Hello

I was wondering about a security batch file, which would list any new files in the last 14 days

what directory should be scanned, and what files types should be looked for?

What kind of security are you worried about?
Your private files maybe?
You question is way too general for you to get any real help.

Than install an antivirus and you're o.k.
If your still worried run malwarebytes antimalware every once in a while.

Making a bat scan for changes every 14days you will end up with a file containing millions of files without any clue about if they got changed by a virus or normal OS oparation.

anti virus, really? I have 4-5 different types.

getting one and running it every 14 days seems very silly

bots, malware, and viruses are everywhere, and even the best companies can't defend against them.

I don't want my computer taken over by some bot, or hacked for financial info

Yes! Follow my steps here to use Sandboxie with Opera.

Double click the Sandboxie icon in the taskbar.

Chose sandbox |Default Box | Sandbox Settings

Click on Applications | Web Browser |Other

Double click on Allow Direct Access To Entire Opera Profile Folder. This is at reduced security, but it allows addons and bookmarks to be saved in the Sandbox.

Now go to sandbox |Default Box | Sandbox Settings | Delete | Delete Invocation and chose Automatically delete contents of sandbox.

That's it! Now when you download a file, Sandboxie will ask to recover to allow the file saved on the computer. You may have to set up the recovery folders like your downloads folder so that Sandboxie knows where to save the file. If you chose to save a file somewhere on your computer besides what the settings are in sandboxie it won't work.

If you use a torrent application and launch the torrent application with the browser it will be launched in Sandboxie and can play hell when trying to download something. So if you are going to use a torrent just launch your browser without the sandbox and then click the magnet link to open your torrent client. It's not like files can't be recovered from the torrent client in a sandbox, it's just a PITA if it's a rather large file and you don't want to lose anything.

Make sure you click apply after you change a setting. It should warn you. What ever your default browser is that is the browser Sandboxie will open when you click on the Sandboxie icon. But be advised if you chose another default browser besides Opera then you will have to configure that browser in sandboxie.

The best thing you could also use is Noscript as well and just disable script blocking, but keeping basic protection on. Noscript is for Mozilla based browsers like Firefox, Pale Moon or Cyberfox. When you disable Noscript it asks if you want to just turn off script blocking. This is so that it's less cumbersome. Or you could block scrips, but allow base 2nd level domains by default to lessen cumbersomeness. But there are times where you still need to temporally allow scripts to a site. Sometimes websites have so many damn scripts that you just have to allow the whole page, but that would be a security risk.

I also use Adblock Edge and have the malware domains block list so that helps too.

I use Bitdefender Free and it will block access to websites if found malware laden. It's light weight cloud based and there are no nag screens. I would not install it to a gaming computer if you use hacks and mods though. Bitdefender can play hell with those. My gaming computer's protection is just Sandboxie, Comodo firewall and scans with several scanners. It's mostly for gaming and I don't surf the net very much with it. My laptop on the other hand is for the Internet and I have it locked down.

I just ran Freefixer again and it indeed does have a Recently created or modified files list if you scroll down.

Yes, I use Herdprotect too. Along with Superantispyware, malwarebytes, detekt, ADwcleaner and TDsskiller. I will on occasion run Freefixer and Emsisoft Emergency Kit.

How can i go back and reconfigure the settings like shown above

Double click the Sandboxie icon in the taskbar not seeing the taskbar anaywhere??

The taskbar is at the bottom on the desktop unless you moved it. You're not using windows 8, are you?

look into malwarebytes anti-exploit as well.

it protects IE, chrome, and Firefox browsers as well as java from exploits.

the paid version allows you to protect more programs.

could be overkill if you already use sandboxie
