Security alert after reseating heatsink??????!!!!!!!

I have Avist and windows defender on in Vista 64. After I turned it off, reseated the heatsink. As of now, it says that windows defender is turned off and that I have no Anti-virus, when before it was doing just fine. I even tried to turn on Defender and it searched for more definitions then found none then you could only click "OK" and then its still off. When I go to the actual Windows defender window, it actually says its on. but I still get that Windows shield in my icons on the bottom right. ???


Any ideas?
