securing my motorcycle

what can i do to secure the bike? It's garaged at night in a safe neighborhood; i ride it to work most everyday, weather permitting. Pretty "affluent" area. Rarely if ever left in shady parts of town.

Currently i've got a Xena X1 on the rear brake, a Xena X2 on the front brake, an abus chain with heavy master lock between the frame and front wheel, and a kryptonite cable lock between the frame and the rear wheel w/ abus lock. . . . what now?

i live in the shady part of town and my bike sits outside. I chain it down to the storm grate and have full coverage insurance.

What prevents a couple fellows from picking the bike up and putting it in a truck? More importantly, what makes this bike so special that it requires an absurd level of protection?

just get full coverage. you can get lowjack but they could probably just remove the unit if they really wanted to.

any bike you own is special. even if it's a rat bike.

As long as you are securing the bike to an immovable external object, it sounds like you have it covered.

Only other thing that I could think of would be a wireless camera system, or perhaps an alarm wired to a movement sensor, for your garage.

While you can never be perfectly secure, you can raise the threshold of effort that a thief has to make to steal the bike. Stealth is also a good technique. If a thief can't find your bike, they can't steal it.

After I had my C-450 stolen from the U of I, Chicago Campus, I never went anywhere without my case hardened chain and lock.

Best of luck,
Uno
