The external sd card has me wondering about security since anyone can just pop it out if I lose my phone. Is Android KitKat "encrypt external sd card" a good feature?
I've only had experience on the desktop with Truecrypt and doing it to an external HDD. What I found is if I already have files on there, it takes an extremely long time (days) to encrypt gigs of data.
Is this true for android's encryption? Should I encrypt the volume then put files on there instead (first checkbox)? That was surely a quicker way to keep my files encrypted on the external HDD. Don't really want to experiment on a new card for fear of making it unusable already.
Maybe there are better Play store programs to do this?
